SUNDAY   Church, quiet afternoon MONDAY Early, early morning as we got up at 3:30 so we would be ready for the APs to pick us up at 4:45. We went to the Mission Home and picked up Sister Medico and then on to the airport. Even though the recommendations are to be at the airport 4 hours early for an international flight, we were through Security within an hour, so had plenty of time at the gate before our 10:00 flight. In SLC we met Sister Medico's family and they had a joyful reunion.  She seems happy and excited to transfer to the Service Mission in her hometown of Taylorsville, UT. Marcia, Savannah Medico, Doug A fun surprise for us was that Ann and Dwight were in Salt Lake! They had just finished a week-long motorcycle trip with Dwight's brothers in Idaho and were on their way back to California. They met us at the airport and we went to lunch before they headed across Nevada in order for Ann to get to work at 6:00 Tuesday morning! Ann, Dwight, Marcia, Doug F...

SUNDAY After church, we went to our friend's Alja and Henk Schuur home. Alja has been in a cast for six weeks now and has been unable to come to church. We have certainly missed seeing her! We enjoyed lunch and spent the entire afternoon visiting. It was good to be with our good friends and strengthen our bonds of friendship and love. MONDAY Since we were gone from the office so much last week with Zone Conferences and visiting with family, we had a lot of catching up to do today. The Mission Monday Zoom meeting is in the morning and a great forum to get announcements and updates, spiritual messages and hear about the miracles of the week. After the Office meeting in the afternoon, President and Sister Watson talked to us and the VandeWal's about a missionary with some worsening mental health issues. He was exploring the possibility of having her stay but not be a proselyting missionary. He will talk to her Stake President, parents, bishop and the Area President before ...

SUNDAY Another week with several new people at church. Travis and Heather Lybbert are from Davis, CA. They will be here for 6 months while he is on sabbatical leave from UCD. Their two kids are on missions, a daughter in France and a son in Argentina. We are excited to have them in our ward! Tatiana is another refugee from Ukraine. She has fled the country but is anxious to get back to her homeland. She teaches at a university and can teach online right now. Her husband is still in Kiev, not in the military, but some sort of support role for the military. I hope she will return to church next week. It is heart-wrenching to see these refugees uprooted from their homes. Taylor Booth plays soccer for FC Utrecht. He is from Eden, UT and has been playing for Bayern Munich for the past four years, since he was 16 years old. He signed with FC Utrecht a couple months ago. So of course we will need to go and watch him play! His cousin, Luke is here for a few months. He is a coll...

SUNDAY Another Sunday with several visitors at church. Mariet Zions grew up in Heerlen, lived in Utrecht for four years while going to college in the early 1970's and has lived in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv since then. She is a delightful person who was here to visit extended family. Mike, from South Jordan, UT is here for work. Johan and Corrine from Sacramento are here one more week before they return home. Sam's friend ______is still here from Brazil. They will do a little traveling this week and she will return home Sep 10 but promised to return soon. It was a quiet afternoon as we rested and caught up from our late night last night helping at the JoVo dance. A good time to rest, reflect on the week and do some study. MONDAY As a follow up to the story from Saturday about the Hengelo apartment break-in... Elders Snow and Fowler are the Content Team for Social Media and had planned to go to the JoVo Conference to make some videos. But with the fatal car acciden...
